The Miami River Art Fair is the first and only international contemporary art fair in the Downtown Miami-Brickell area during Art Basel week showcasing selected national and international Galleries, Special Projects, and Curated Solo & Collective Exhibitions.

The 2nd Edition of the Miami River Art Fair will take place December 5 – 8, 2013 in the Downtown-Brickell Miami Convention Center and will welcome thousands of art professionals, elite art collectors and art lovers from all over the world.

The Miami River Art Fair 2013 will offer 40,000 square feet of both indoor and outdoor exhibition space with world-class artists and galleries in an indoor booth setting at the Riverfront Hall – inside the James L. Knight International Center. This indoor exhibition space overlooks the one-of-a-kind outdoor Riverwalk Sculpture Mall which will feature monumental sculptures alongside luxury yachts docked on the banks of the historic Miami River. The MRAF 2013 will also feature the Riverfront Hall Terrace and the Riverfront Mural Hall.

The Miami River Art Fair will present a diverse range of curatorial concepts, with more than fifty cutting-edge Special Projects, Curated Group and Solo Exhibitions by renowned figures and emerging artists from around the world.

The MRAF 2013 welcomes the Solo presentation by Monaco Modern’ Art featuring Philippe Pastor (Monaco) with a series of works never seen before; New works presented by Alexandre Baptista (Portugal), Karl W Lu (Australia), Kiko Sobrino (Brazil), Tierry Du Parc (France), Qui Chi Chen (China), Chingo Oe (Japan) , Jesus Led (Spain), Francoise Palsterman (France), Mario Zarza (Mexico), Eduardo Lacarra (Spain-Venezuela), Echenique (Spain), Marcelo Holzinger (Argentina-USA), Villotaf (Spain) and Willow (Italy) who will be in charge of designing the private shuttle wrap.

Additional highlights in the Riverfront Hall will include: Gaga Gallery (Korea) presenting works by Chang Hoon WooJeong Nam kimSong Juk LeeYoung Sook OhNina Torres Fine Art (Miami) showing a selection of works by artists from Latin America including Rufino Tamayo and Diego Rivera; a Cuban Pavilion presenting works by Roberto Fabelo, Mariano Rodriguez, Amelia Pelaez, and new works by KchoEka & Moor Gallery (Spain) presenting a group of artists from Europe; Mayjune Gallery (Korea) presenting Park Hyun SooKeejim Jin HoPark Chul Hawn, Kim AesookArt History Consulting (Germany) presenting a curated project with artists from Germany and Switzerland among others.

Finally, the Riverwalk Sculpture Mall will showcase Christina Saradopoulou (Greece), Marina Atelier (France), Emili Armengol (Spain), Attila JK (Budapest), Octavio Cuellar and Rafael Consuegra (Cuba).

The First Sons & Daughters is an Art Project created by lugufelo to celebrate Native American heritage, a monument of remembrance for those cultures born on this continent. This human get disarm and dismembered, its parts forge by progress and nothing in those six pieces of modern metal will give away his true identity. The eye, hand, TORSO, foot, head and the soul are the complete set of the proposed monument. The Torso symbolizes the Courage, Wisdom and Strength.

Doral Government Center Inaugural Art Exhibit

Coconut Grove’s zany Mad Hatter Arts Festival is back this year with much more in store. Along with the creative arts and craftsfor sale there will also be a chalk painting festival and an en plein air event. En Plein Air is when artists set up around town and paint out in public. The chalk festival is common all throughout Florida, but this is the first one in the Miami area.

International Artist lugufelo Exhibits His Art in a Solo Show at Pinecrest Gardens 

PINECREST, FL – July 22, 2015 – Skilled public artist lugufelo announced today that he will present his exhibit “Animated Metals” as a solo art exhibition at the Garden Gallery in Pinecrest Gardens, Pinecrest, FL. lugufelo is an international artist known for his use of geometric forms in creating interactive art. The Garden Gallery will exhibit a selection of lugufelo’s work in August 2015, and the artist’s larger-than-life centerpiece of the exhibition, entitled “Torso”, will remain in the adjoining, lushly-landscaped Pinecrest Gardens through 2016. 

Lugufelo was born and raised in Venezuela where he was influenced at an early age by the great maestro, Jesus Soto. Having briefly studied under Soto’s direction, lugufelo, has created his own unique style and perspective on kinetic art, computer animated art, and large-scale geometric metal art.  Regarding this show, the artist states “It is an incredible opportunity to share my work and my passion for the synthesis of abstract forms and natural spaces with area residents.  Pinecrest Gardens is a truly unique space and I am honored to present my work in such an amazing setting!” 

Lugufelo’s exhibition is made possible through the joint efforts of Village of Pinecrest officials, the artist himself, and Pinecrest resident and art advocate, Julie Jeffries.  

The Garden Gallery at Pinecrest Gardens is located at 11000 Red Road in Pinecrest, adjacent to the Pinecrest Community Center.  Summer hours of operation are Monday-Friday 10:00-6:00 and Saturday and Sunday 9:00-5:00.  Telephone 305-669-6990.
